How to understand the different metrics on Insights
The data you will find in the Insights section is updated every 24 hours. In addition to the particular metrics of each platform, we can find a section called ‘News’ with general audience figures. Here we clarify all your doubts about how to interpret them:
- Fans: variation in viewership in the last 28 days, compared to the previous 28 days.
- Monthly audience: artist’s current audience across all platforms, updated in the last 24 hours.
- Subscribers: artist’s YouTube subscribers, updated in the last 24 hours.
Spotify
In the Spotify statistics section, you can find the following metrics.
Streams: The total number of times your songs have been played. You will see that in the upper right corner of the graph, it is clarified that the data refers to the last 15 weeks.
Followers: Number of people who currently follow the Spotify profile so that you always have at first glance how your audience is growing.
Monthly Listeners: Number of people who have streamed your music during the last 28 days. This is relevant information when comparing with previous months. You will be able to be clear about your numbers when you release a new single and your numbers when you have not released music.
Most popular songs: The most streamed songs in the last 30 days. This will give you clues about the songs your fans prefer and will allow you to know which songs are most likely to be successful in the content you create for networks.
Active playlists: Number of active playlists on Spotify in which one of your songs is found. This way you can always track where your music is being listened to.
Songs Reach: Reach of the playlists in which your songs are included. With this data you can identify the playlists that are really powerful and what % of your music listening is due to them and what % are due to other listening sources.
Listeners by country: The distribution of your monthly listeners by country. An essential piece of information to know the most effective way to communicate with your fans based on where they are.
Top cities: The list of cities where the most people listen to your music. These are the cities you should prioritize when planning a tour, concert or launch.
Most playlisted songs: List of your songs that have been added the most to editorial and personal playlists over time. This way, you can locate the type of playlists where you have the most opportunities to enter. Pay attention to what they have in common: a genre, a theme?
YouTube
Views: Number of total views you have had in the last 15 weeks. This will allow you to be aware of the times when your channel is most active and identify the videos that maintain views over time.
